Many of us must ask "Why me?" when we struggle with the days and nights around this technology. Even I do at odd moments and I know the answer! Here it is for you all in the Native American way, but each other way is the same. Sometimes we forget important things in our struggles.

Everything on the earth has a purpose and a reason for its existence. Every human being is a warrior and every warrior has a song written in his/her heart and that song must be sung or the soul forever remains restless. This song is always about serving the Great Spirit and helping the people. This song is always sung for the people. Many times I need to learn much about the difficulties of life. I need to know this, so I must experience it. Then I can be of use to the people. Because I am experiencing difficulty does not mean I have left the path or that I have done something wrong. It means I'm doing the will of the Great Spirit during these times of testing. I need to pray constantly to keep a good attitude.

Great Spirit, this I know - You will never leave me, only my doubting makes it seem like You do. This I know - Your love is always dependable, only my doubting makes it seem like You do. Today remove the doubts from my belief system and allow me to stand straight and see You with straight eyes.

As we view the world today, it's easy to see the people
are off track. We are no longer living in harmony.
Focusing on the material only leads us from the path of
the Creator. We must now pray for ourselves and the
people in a pitiful way. We must be humble and ask the
Great Spirit to intervene because if we don't, our children
will continue to have troubles. They are acting out our
behavior as adults. Today is a good time to start.
We need to get the spiritual way back into our lives.
We need to focus on the spiritual.

My Creator, help me to focus on the spiritual way.

There are certain prayers or actions we can take that will call the Powers.

The powers can only work through people. The Powers are
always waiting to express themselves through people that
are ready. Every person born is born with a purpose.

They have a song to sing.

They have a mission to accomplish.

Every true purpose will always be about serving the Creator and helping others. When we let the Powers know that we are ready to serve the people, the Powers get excited because they can now do things to help the people and make things better for them.

The decision is powerful because it turns an idea into action.



Great Spirit, the greatest joy or feeling that I have ever experienced is when you are using me to help the people, the feeling of giving, the feeling of being your channel. Today, let me have that feeling of giving. Use me as You will.

God, this is hard. Today, allow me to be a Warrior.
Let me be strong. Let Your voice be clear to me.
Let me hear Your guidance. My goal today is to
serve You, to develop myself to be the kind of
Indian person that You would have me be.
To Walk the Red Road must sometimes be
walked alone.

Great Spirit, let me walk the Red Road today with the confidence that You are with me. If I fall, I will quickly ask You to help me know what I should do next.

The Hopi Elders Speak

We Are the Ones We've Been Waiting For
You have been telling the people that this is the
Eleventh Hour. Now you must go back and tell the
people that this is The Hour.
And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great
and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel
they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.
Know the river has its destination. The elders say we
must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the
river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the
water. See who is in there with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally.

Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do,
our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!

Banish the word struggle from your attitude and
your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done
in a sacred manner and in celebration.

Touching the earth - getting grounded, centered. There is magic in touching the earth and feeling her healing power. This is especially healthy to do during a troubling time when our minds are racing or can't stop thinking or are locked onto fear or resentment. When I need to feel free I can go to the Mother Earth. The Mother Earth is full of life and love. She always gives her powers to those who come to her. The Mother Earth is alive.

Today, my Great Spirit, let me remember to touch the earth. Let me slow down and live just for today. Let me be gentle, patient and kind.
